Hello World
Hi!
My name is Jorge Vergara. I'm a Junior at the University of Arizona, majoring in Computer Science and Mathematics. I'm currently employed as a Section Leader Coordinator for the CS department. The Section Leader program consists of undergraduates that assist in the teaching of our Computer Science courses.
Past employment includes a summer at Microsoft, where I served as a developer on the Windows Phone team, working on internal development tools to aid in debugging phone images. The summer of 2011 was spent at the Rice University Summer Institute of Statistics, where I researched methods of identifying and classifying mating chirps belonging to the Mexican Free-tailed bat (Tadarida brasiliensis).
On the CREU team, I will be focusing on developing the mobile application and researching protocols to allow the secure communication of health information the end user in an effective manner. I will also be researching how to minimize battery impact of this application on the device.
