Hello!

Hello! I’m Chelsea Doll, a junior at the University of Arizona and majoring in Public Health and minoring in Nutritional Sciences. Besides working on this amazing CREU project this next year I also have two jobs, one at In-N-Out Burger and the other at Famous Sam’s. As I’m sure you’re questioning (because I question it too) I do work with bad-for-you burgers and fried bar food even though both my major and minor would balk at the thought (the forefathers of these disciplines are probably turning in their graves).

When it comes to creating applications for phones I can safely say I have no idea what I’m doing. But that’s the fun of this whole project, isn’t it? Learning something new, and especially learning of something you can do with a degree you might not have ever thought possible. My job on this project is helping develop the application; whether it’s researching previous food-related applications for comparison and ideas, focus groups to help determine themes, goals, and ease of application use, or making decisions on if users’ locations should be utilized or how information is submitted.

I’m excited for the upcoming year and seeing where this project goes and what the application becomes!
